Rare antique memory miniature painting mourning brooch/pendant.
Probably France approx. 1870-80′, The metal was tested as approx. 14k gold, elongated octagonal basic shape, miniature painting that representation of a young woman with two flying doves and little Cupid. On the porcelain plaque there is inscription in French – ”L’amour soutenu par l’esperance” –
”Love sustained by hope”.
Surrounded by seed pearls and created from a variety of materials including gold wire, seed pearls and hair that has been worked beautifully backside the brooch.
With monogram SPM backside.
