Mars and Venus each hold an arrow, while their son, the little Cupid, has taken Mars’s spear and is beckoning him somewhere. Mars is the ancient Roman god of war and an agricultural guardian, protector of Rome, military power, and guardian of spring/harvest.
Venus – ancient Roman goddess of love, beauty, sex, and fertility. She is the equivalent of the Greek goddess Aphrodite and serves as a mythical ancestor of the Roman people.
